The life cycle of self-insurance risk, from assumption to resolution is quite different from that of the traditional insurance market. The management of a legacy portfolio requires additional considerations beyond what may have been contemplated when the captive was first established. This session will discuss the unique issues which arise at the end of the insurance life cycle and explore options to meet those challenges, from reinsurance to novation to entity acquisition.
